Posted By Micky Mouse On January 4, 2009

Okay so I am not sure if were going this year but we have been for the past 2 years. I need to find a good deal which may convince us to go. So please send me a link to a great website to find good deals on plane tickets and resorts.

I want a good and fun resort close to Universal Studios and Disney World. Please help me out here.

You should check either Disney Vacation Resorts and http://www.expedia.com
It saves you alot of money on trips My family joined the Disney Vacation club last year and although we stayed at a resort near Disney we didnt actually go…yeah I know. Its very strange but we didnt have the money. lol

Im going to say that you are a family of four 2 adults a 14 year old and 10 year old and youll be flying out of Newark airport if different let me know and Ill come up with new figures.

    March 815
One of the less busier times to travel plus its the stay 4 nights get 3 free

    Hotel Disneys Pop Century Resort
I choose for you to stay on Disney Property because you will probably spend most of your time at Disney and when you want to travel to Universal you only need to rent a car for that day because you can use Disney transportation at Disney World. Plus youll have Disneys Magical Express service to take you right to your hotel from the airport.

Tickets5 Day Magic Your Way Park Hopper
Even though you will be there 8 days one day will be spent at Universal and plus depending on what time your plane arrives in Orlando or departs Orlando you may not be able to go to a park the 8 or the 14. The park hopper will allow you to go to all 4 parks in the same day with out having to use another days admission.

Universal Studios 4 adult tickets 1 day/2 parks
Expensive you may want to forgo this option if you are short on cash

    Flight Continental Airlines
Leaving Liberty Airport Newark NJ EWR at 6:30a.m. arrive 9:10a.m. that gives you time to still go to a park

Departing Orlando Airport MCO at 5:35 with one stopover in Ohio with a connecting flight 47 mins. later arriving at LaGuardia Airport NYNY LGA at 10:20 again leaves you almost a full day in the park or to do other things

    more details https://www.continental.com/web/enUS/apps/booking/flight/reviewRevenue.aspx?SID70D11A5D7F07463783BCE15DAEF0D6A3sg8sgk18473/15/200959553/15/2009

I also looked into Southwest too but that is flying out of Long Island http://www.southwest.com/cgibin/showOrPrice

    Grand Total with Continental flight
    3608.20
A very reasonable vacation for 4 for a full week with airfare.

    Hope this helps

I am not sure where you are flying from but check spiritair.com for discounted rates on flights. Also Universal is running a special on booking a 3 night get 2 free or 4 night get 3 free. Most of the hotels they use have transporation to and from universal seaword wet n wild. If you dont mind paying for transporation or planning to rent a car look for a hotel in kisssimee. They are cheaper and most of them accept the magic card. orlandomagiccard.com to get one for free. You do need to call the hotel directly to get this rate. there will be a list of hotels on that site as well and the discounts that they are offering. Depending on what you want to do Disney or Universal will depend on the amount of the trip. Right now I have figured out approximitly 2500 for a family of 4 2adults and 15yrs and 9yrs. Staying at the Serralaga hotel in a 2 room suite transportation to and from the airport. Doing seaword Bush Gardens Aquitica Wet and Wild. The transportation to these activities. Mangatetaxi.com has a list of the costs for transportation. The other Hotel that I am looking at is the Homewood Suites near Universal a little more but provide transportation. That also includes air fare. I found all these specials on my own and I will keep looking. Tty mousesavers.com. allears.net and touringplans.net. All good web sites for up to date information on specials that are running in Orlando. If you decide to do Seaword and Bush Gardens keep in mind that you can get a season pass and pay monthly payments so that the cost will not be all up front. You can also check out mapleleaftickets for ticket discounts but check the original site as well sometimes they are better and other times they are more expensive
