What are good things to do when visiting Walt Disney World ?

For adults who have 23 days to spend at Walt Disney World what would be the best attractions to see. I like the big thrill rides whilst my partner likes waterslides and is interested in the Epcot centre technology and stuff like that.
Can you give us some ideas on the best parks and rides for us ? Also what about ticketing options which tickets should we get and where should we purchase them from ? Should we bother getting the park hopper tickets ?

I think it would be wise to do one of two things either split up for the day and each do your own thing and meet at a certain time and place which I dont think is a good idea as you did not share the experiences Or compromise and focus on mostly his interests one day and than mostly focus on your interests on another day or simply alternate.
No do not try to go to two different them parks in one day especially if you have several days. You can not see and do everything at one park in a single day. You would be wasting your time and money get frustrated and be exhausted.
I can offer you some package deals at my web site in the source below.
I understand that you love the thrill rides so do I but Disney is more about the visuals than the thrills even though there are thrill rides but were not talking 6 flags here. Enjoy the Magic Kingdom together and Epcot together and then since youre probably a younger couple Blizzard Beach. Epcot is not all technology the attractions are BASED more on science in Future World but you are not going there to be educated. Thrill rides would include at the magic Kingdom: Space Mountain Big Thunder Mountain Railroad and Splash Mountain. At Epcot: Mission: Space Test Track Body Wars that one might be closed and Soarin.
Disneys biggest thrills are at Blizzard Beach 1 slide is over 100 feet straight down total rush and at Hollywood Studios Rock N Roller Coaster and Tower of Terror but dont go for the thrills go for the entire magical experience.
And remember this you cant get your picture taken with Mickey at a thrill park can you?
Hey I think I can help you. I just went with my boyfriend for 4 days to Disney World and we had a great time.
In regards to buying the park tickets there is no difference if you buy them before you go or when you get there. The only thing I can say is that we bought our tickets before we left at a Disney store and a few days later they raised the ticket prices so to be on the safe side you could buy them now. Also if you only have 23 days then you should definitley get the park hopper. Its worth it.
If you like the big thrill rides then I recommend Disneys Hollywood Studios. Go on the Tower of Terror and Rock N Roller Coaster. There is also another great roller coaster at Animal Kingdom called Expedition Everest. There is another great ride there called Dinosaur its not a roller coaster but its definitley a thrill and like nothing youve ever experienced before and it is a bumpy ride. Since your boyfriend seems interested in Epcot you should go. Just be warned Epcot is a huge park. It has two sections Future World and World Showcase. Future World has more of the technology experiences and World Showcase has a small section for different countries around the world. The best rides in Epcot are Soarin and Test Track. If you like intense water slides then I recommend going to Blizzard Beach. Just be warned there are a lot of stairs to walk up to get to each ride its exhausting after awhile. If you like more relaxing water rides and even want to try a water roller coaster then go to Typhoon Lagoon. They also have a snorkeling area where you can snorkel with baby sharks. However be warned Typhoon Lagoon wont open until the spring time its under refurbishment right now.
My kids 17 and 23 enjoyed going to more than one park a day. If you stay at a Disney resort which I highly recommend you can go to Magic Hours. So you can be at a park till 121am. Makes for a long day. Hollywood Studios has Tower of Terrorwhich is the only ride that really scared my daughter. Also has Rockin Roller coaster.
If you have 3 days and dont plan on coming back to Disney for awhile I would get the Hopper Pass.
